With the right rental equipment, you can enhance your skiing experience, ensure your safety, and fully immerse yourself in the exhilarating winter wonderland that Japan has to offer. Read on to see which products we are excited about next season.

Every winter at Rhythm Japan, our team of experienced buyers spend hours on snow, testing new gear and finding the perfect options to improve our rental fleet. The time spent evaluating the skis and boards’ performance on different terrains and snow conditions allows us to select a fleet suitable for all ability levels and terrain.

The 23/24 Winter season will see our largest ever investment in the rental fleet and an almost complete overhaul of the range. With new topsheets  from some of our previous favourites and some completely new models we are all fizzing to introduce the new range.

Premium Ski range

The Premium Ski lineup is made up of brands such as Volkl, K2, Armada, Season Equipment, Atomic, Faction, Salomon and Black Crows. We have options for those linking turns on the blue slopes all the way through to the powder hounds getting neck deep in the infamous Japanese forests.

Top picks

Salomon QST 106
Salomon will be featured for the first time in our premium rental fleet next season and  the Salomon QST 106 has been selected for its all mountain performance. At a versatile 106mm underfoot it offers stability on groomed runs and still performs well in deep powder. Its Spaceframe construction combines a lightweight wood core with carbon and flax fibres, ensuring precise handling and dampening. The ski’s all-terrain rocker profile enhances manoeuvrability and floatation, while the semi-sandwich sidewalls provide edge grip. With moderate flex and forgiveness, the QST 106 is perfect for a range of abilities and conditions.

Armada ARV 100

The ARV lineup will see a full redesign for Winter 23/24, and the ARV 100 is a new width that has us all super excited for snow to start falling again. With a waist width of 100mm, it offers a balance between stability on groomed runs and nimbleness in soft snow. The ski features Armada’s innovative Poplar Ash core, providing a lightweight yet durable construction that delivers excellent energy transfer and responsiveness. The ARV 100’s rocker-camber-rocker profile enhances maneuverability and floatation, making it a great option for tackling Japan’s powder-filled slopes. Its freestyle-inspired design allows for playful turns and creative tricks, while the ski’s durable sidewalls provide solid edge grip on firmer surfaces. With its all-around performance and versatility, the Armada ARV 100 is an ideal choice for skiers seeking out fresh stashes in the trees but still wanting to have fun on the groomers and side hits.

Premium Snowboard range

The huge variety of shapes and options are very well represented in our premium snowboard range with something for even the most discerning deep snow enthusiast to get excited about. We work with brands such as Burton, Libtech, Roxy, Ride, Jones, K2, Capita, Yes, Atlantis, Season Equipment, Offshore, and Island Snowboards.

Top Snowboard Picks

Capita Kazu

A tried and tested classic with the new topsheet and upgraded version featuring in the fleet for next year. A true staff and customer favourite over the last few seasons, the Kazu never fails to perform in a variety of terrain. The Capita Kazu Snowboard is a high-performance freeride board designed with input from Hokkaido legend Kazu Kokubo. Its directional shape and Hybrid profile provide stability, float, and manoeuvrability. Produced at the Mothership in Austria this versatile board offers high end performance in deep snow whilst still having the ability to lay some turns on the groomers.

Jones Twin Sister

The Jones Twin Sister is a high-performance snowboard specifically designed for female riders who seek versatility and confidence across all mountain terrain. With its twin shape and directional flex, the Twin Sister offers a balanced and responsive feel, making it suitable for riding deep snow in the trees and dialling in new tricks all over the mountain. The CamRock profile provides a combination of camber underfoot for stability and rocker in the tip and tail for float in powder and forgiveness on turns. The confidence inspiring, playful nature of this board guarantees it will be a true favourite in the rental fleet next year.

Burton Step on Bindings

New for Winter 23/24 we are excited to offer all Premium snowboard rental customers the choice between a traditional set of bindings or the new Burton Step on system.

Burton Step On bindings have been around for a few years now and have revolutionised snowboarding with their seamless and efficient design. They eliminate straps and provide a quick, secure connection between the boot and the binding. With a simple step-on and release mechanism, riders can effortlessly secure their boots to the bindings without the hassle of straps or ratchets. Three connection points ensure stability and response. Step On bindings are perfect for riders who value convenience and want more time on the slopes. The Step on bindings require a step on compatible boot, these are also available in our premium rental package or users can bring their own.

For those with non step on boots or those who just prefer the traditional system of a binding with straps and ratchets we still have a large selection of Burton bindings in a different range of flex options.
